#10ReasonstoRenovate is an awareness-raising action on the many reasons why renovation is good for society.

Ahead of the 2019 European elections, MEPs and candidates each chose one of the ten reasons and lent it their face, many of them in their own language.

The 10 reasons to renovate

  1. Because energy efficient renovation is the true no-regret option to improve people’s lives.
  2. Because children learn so much better in healthier schools.
  3. Because I feel responsible for how we leave the planet for future generations.
  4. Because energy efficient renovation is an investment for society, not a cost.
  5. Because we don’t have to choose between a strong economy and tackling climate change: we can have both.
  6. Because energy efficient renovation means local jobs for local people.
  7. Because local SME jobs depend on a thriving renovation market.
  8. Because no one in the EU should have to choose between heating and eating.
  9. To ensure our built heritage is preserved for future generations.
  10. Because social equality starts at home: in a warm and healthy home.
