National partner

ROENEF

ROENEF facilitates an open dialogue between the central authorities, practitioners and businesses in the energy efficiency of buildings. Transparently and respecting technological neutrality, it promotes solutions and priorities for modernising Romania’s economy and transforming it into an energy efficient one.

The national recovery plan

Renovate2Recover country profile (2021)

In 2021 we looked at how each national recovery plan funded building renovation. The Renovate2Recover study found significant renovation activity planned, and called for two things: funding that delivers deep (or staged deep) renovations, going well beyond the 30% minimum energy saving recommended by the European Commission, and an enabling framework, including private finance, so that renovation markets keep growing after the recovery funding ends in 2026.

The Romanian profile comes from the study commissioned by the Renovate Europe Campaign and carried out by E3G, with input from ROENEF.
