RENOWAVE.AT is the innovation lab for climate-neutral renovation of buildings and neighbourhoods across Austria. It is run by RENOWAVE.AT eG, a registered cooperative that anyone working in renovation can join, and brings the sector together through research projects, events and training, including the RENOWAVE.AT Impact Days, Austria’s central event for climate-neutral renovation.

The national recovery plan

Renovate2Recover country profile (2021)

In 2021 we looked at how each national recovery plan funded building renovation. The Renovate2Recover study found significant renovation activity planned, and called for two things: funding that delivers deep (or staged deep) renovations, going well beyond the 30% minimum energy saving recommended by the European Commission, and an enabling framework, including private finance, so that renovation markets keep growing after the recovery funding ends in 2026.

The Austrian profile comes from the study commissioned by the Renovate Europe Campaign and carried out by E3G, with input from 17&4.
