The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and the European Economic Recovery Plan were two massive stimulus packages passed in 2009 to counter the effects of the economic slowdown.
Against this background, and in the light of current debates, the Renovate Europe Campaign joined forces with the Alliance to Save Energy (ASE) to organise a very timely event looking back at the role energy efficiency can play in accelerating economic recovery. Topics included the role of energy efficiency in the ARRA and the European Economic Recovery Plan, the ongoing impact of these packages on our sector today, and how they can inform decisions on upcoming stimulus proposals and recovery plans.
